• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Does anyone lnow where I can get my hands on a flywheel puller for a 1980 WR-390. I want to tear this engine down and get it ready for vintage enduro in 2009. I am also looking for a swingarm for this bike since the previous owner of the bike allowed the chain to saw through the bottom of the exsisting one.

Thanks for the replies.

Will be traveling in Missouri next week. I know that there is a motorcycle junk yard out there and I thought I saw a frame and swing arm there.

If interested, I can stop, get their number and serial number from frame?

Will do some digging in the wreckage next week when I am out there.

Neat place to go through!

Will get see what I can find!

OldMX,

Stopped by the cycle salvage yard today and out of two Husky swingarms, I think I found one. The first one had the kickstand bracket pulled out once, someone welded it, and cracked again. Then dug through the snowy pile some more and found another one (last one). Excellent shape, needs a paint job and some new bearings in the tubes where it goes through the frame to pivot. It is off of a 250 but I think it will also fits yours.

I would suggest that you contact Louie @ www.50highwaycycle.com or by telephone @ 816-405-2003. Louie said they would take $75 for it but might be able to get them down? I told him to put it back where he knew where it was and someone would call him direct. You might want to have them e-mail you a picture of it and also the measurements, to ensure fit. In case if it doesn't match up, he said might be able to locate one for you!

Let me know how you make out!
