• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1984 WR 250 what Piston do I have?

1982 XC 430

Husqvarna
AA Class
So despite telling a Buddy that I didn't need another Project Bike I got a 84 WR 250 in very Ugly looking condition Today but might just prove to be a Jewel in the Ruff. 1994 Tabs. Its Got Trelleborg Tires front and Rear the Rear Knobs are 2/3rds gone. It still has the Plastic Chain Gaurd thing over the top of the Chain. Its been sitting a long time (outside) the Motor was Stuck and somebody stole the Carb and Airbox. This is an Air Cooled Motor. Before I spend Thousands Restoreing yet another Bike I'd at least like to know what Piston it has. On top of the Piston it sez...

1.0 mm
137P4
CD

With my Caliper when I measure the Skirt its comes in at 70.0 mm and near as I can tell 69.5 should be stock. The Clutch Basket looks near new as dose most of the rest of the Motor. The Crank had some very old emusified Oil and Mosture but no Rust. If I go ahead I'm at a Crossroads as to Replace the Crank Bearings anyway. Everything Spins just fine now. The Piston and Bore are in real good shape the Honing Marks are still there. Do not the replacement Pistons have a brand name on them? What Piston do I have?
Thanx...

137p4 is a old wiseco number, 1.0mm overbore to 70.5mm, the new wiseco number is 137M07050. Side note, you mentioned the bike sat outside, if water got in the bottom of the crankcase the cases could be junk. magnesium does not like water, it corodes through like acid. You will know when you split the cases. hopefully this is not the case.

I don't think the water will be a problem, looking a split in the Carb to Intack Boot I might of got the Water in there myself today at the Car Wash when I was getting the Moss off. The Crank shows no sign of Rust at all. Thanx for the Heads up on the Piston.
