  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
C Class
Hello to the community,

I am doing a full resto on my 84 wr240, and finding it extremely difficult to find a new tank and airbox.

Wondering if anyone know where to find a new tank and airbox??

Tank 151411301 (12.5 Lt)
Airbox 151402701

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Shayne.

there is a guy posted here selling a new 84 tank...or was it 83? check the last few posts in the vintage left kicker tab...

i just looked and its gone??? i sure he was trying to sell an 82 and 83 tank and i thought he said he had an 84 as well..new ones....he must have pulled the post.

$800 sounds reasonable for a tank. I have one but not looking to sell.

Was trying to buy NOS 84 sidepanels a few months back , they got to £175 and I let them go.... :(

Think Phillip only has the 83 sidepanels? I have asked him before

The 83 ones are excellent I put a pair on a 500 I worked on this winter

I checked on his website. He does not show for the 84-85 twinshocks and shows out of stock for the 1983 sidecovers. There needs to be a show of enough demand as there are minimum justifiable orders at the injection mold company he uses to give Acerbis quality plastic and form. No one can afford to have ones and twosies done in that environment

I've asked multiple times regarding 84 sidepanels. Sadly it all comes down to if Phillip wants to/can invest or not. His 83 sidepanels are excellent and surpass DC quality by a mile, but unless some one pays Maier(?) to do a production run of shiny 84 versions then DC is the only option.

Who is paying to design and build the injection dies? DC Plastic vacuum bags their plastics. You get what you pay for.

For what its worth it took Maier 5-10 years to do the 83 Maico side panels once an original set had been located to mold from.

Shall I assume that You have a Tank and that You are looking for a nice one for a restoration? If You are just looking for a rider Tank I might have one.
