• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1986 400 WR ; Need a chain roller guide (wheel) and plastic chain guard

Looking for a couple of final bits to finish my build on 1986 400WR. any help much appreciated.

I need a black plastic chain guard and a chain roller guide (the white/neoprene kinda wheel that the chain rides on - i have the metal mount arm).

Does anyone have serviceable spares i could purchase? OR any guidance to where i can buy a new guard and chain roller wheel?

Thanks all.

when you say a black plastic chain guard, do you mean the one that contains the chain above the swingarm or the one that was white and goes on the swingarm

Hello there, thank you for your response. I am looking for Item #1 (mine has been torn in half at some time) - thats the black plastic guard that encloses the chain. Also any serviceable (white plastic/resin) type roller wheels would be appreciated. anything you have or won't use, i am interested in . This is not a concours bike. i am just putting it all back together from a basket case i saved from the scrap man. Much appreciated!

Hi , thanks, yes both those items are missing or destroyed on mine. The black chain cover (Item #1 in the diagram above , is torn in half ) and the rear swing arm chain guard (that stops the chain tearing on the swing arm metal) also missing. thank you

there are plenty of options for the swing arm protector, I bought one from a company that makes a good aftermarket
the roller albeit a different size is common to most dirt bikes, make sure if you get one all the parts match, like buy an assembly
HVA is a great resource for the items you are looking for too, you can find his link on this site
