• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1986 XC 400 I think

everyone on here talks about buchanans for wheels and spokes. there was someone replating rims in the husky gold color. try some steel wool first unless they are real rusty.

love the bike.... my brother has a 85' 250xc and I have a 86 430xc

Mine has the Factory Husky Niles Ussery frame, 500xc radiators, obviously 430 engine in 86' chassis, flex bars, 88 CR430 forks and wide pegs

Like that 430. Some trick bits.
Got any pics of the frame's skidplate?
What brand / date made is that seat cover? My 87 250 XC has one. First other one I've seen.

I can take a pic of the skid plate.... it was welded on by Niles ussery the husky factory team guy along with all the gussets for the frame.... the forks make all the difference...

I am not sure who did the seat cover... i bought one way back then also and seems like maybe Ceet but I could be wrong

Did a little search on Niles. He was a member of the Los Ancianos motorcycle club who put on the Tecate 250 race.
In the 1986 Tecate 250, Husky won 9 of the top 20 finishes. Dave Bertram won 1st overall on a Husky 430 Auto and Malcolm Smith won Senior class on a 87 Husky 430.
