  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc 1994 WXE 250 - Questions

MotoScotti

Husqvarna
Hey folks,

I’ve recently acquired a 1994 Husqvarna WXE 250 and could use some help tracking down a few things.

First off, I’m looking for a copy of the owner’s manual / workshop manual for the 1994 WXE 250. Anyone know where I can find a digital or physical copy? (Happy to pay for a copy if need be)

I’m not planning a top-end or bottom-end rebuild just yet as it kicks over with no issues, but I’d like to know the best places to source parts if I need them down the line. Specifically, I’m interested in:

• Seals, gaskets, pistons, bearings, and rings for the top end

• Crank bearings, seals, and gaskets for the bottom end

Also, are parts from the WR250 or WXC250 compatible with the WXE250? If so, any recommendations for places that have good stock of these parts?

Lastly, I’m on the lookout for new plastics and decals. Anyone know where I can find either OEM-style or aftermarket decals and plastics that are a good fit for the 1994 WXE 250?

I understand it’s a 30+ year old bike, but having has a HuskyBoy 50cc when I was younger, it’s kind of a dream to own a 250.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Cheers,

-MS

The plastics are super rare and expensive from OEM yours look to be in decent condition people would pay good money for them. The WXC and WXE are the same bike with a light kit on the WXE. The WR is also the same with street legal gear. I use Wiseco pistons in my bike , I have a 1994 WXC 250. There are many aftermarket gasket and seal sets and also rods kits as well.

Hey mate,

Firstly I seriously appreciate the reply and information, secondly apologies for the absolute waffle written below:

From my research over the last few weeks, like you’ve mentioned, I’ve discovered OEM parts are basically nigh impossible to find, so any aftermarket manufacturer you’d recommend is fantastic.

I did see the Wiseco piston kits for my bike, so that’s always good to know. Am i right in thinking the WXE,WXE and WR shared the same engine platform from 1992 to 1998? I’ve found numerous gasket kits for 1994 WR but none for the WXE, but not sure if that’s because the WXE was a regional model for certain countries.

I plan to do some bits and pieces on the bike to restore some of the electric system as the previous owner has cut away the headlight and the tail / brake light doesn’t work. I don’t suppose you’d know where I could find a shop manual for a 94? Or even a schematic for the wiring harness? As I understand it the lights are solely driven off the stator & RR circuit.

As for the plastics, they are fantastic for 31 years old, I’d like to find aftermarket plastics to use and keep the OEM ones in storage so they don’t get wrecked. It’s a lovely bike with that 90s feel, I’d like to really look after it and get it up to as close to 100 as I can. I see DC plastics do a kit for Husky 92-99

Not sure if anyone has ordered from this company before, but looks to be the only one to make plastics for this bike.

Anyways, thanks again, let me know if you have any recommendations on the above.

Many thanks!!
