  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2 Bikes: 2011 TXC 250 and 2013 TXC 310...similar issues - help?

Husqvarna
AA Class
2 Bikes, similar problems:
2013 TXC 310: At the last race we got dirt in the tank (short version – fuel cap popped off). Bike ran for a while but ultimately ran like crap. I assumed I was dealing with a clogged fuel injector. So I tore it apart last night, cleaned the fuel injector with brake cleaner, plugged it into the bike to open the ports and make sure it all get rinsed well, cleaned and rinsed the tank with clean fuel, cleaned the screen filter at the fuel pump and put it back together. I then hit the start button to prime it but did not connect the fuel line to the injector so I could see fuel flow into a clean dish and check for dirt. All looked good, no particles floating in the fuel (I was concerned about the in-line fuel filter). I connected the fuel line to the injector and fired it up. Started immediately but ran just like before…crappy, lean, back firing. I then discovered a fuel leak at the injector…I busted the red o-ring that is between the fuel line connector and the actual injector – held in by 1 Philips head screw. Off to the auto parts store I go…
Question…am I missing a step here of what to clean? I really don’t want to put this thing together only to find I missed a major step.

2011 TXC 250: Bike runs great for about 10 to 15 minutes then it goes into crap mode….nothing above a ¼ throttle…back fires, runs lean.
So…I replaced the temp sensor – nope, not it. I replaced the fuel pump, cleaned the injector, rinsed out the tank, cleaned the filter by back washing it (checked fuel flow and made sure it has no "floaties"…the result? No Bueno. Same stuff.
I am pretty much at the end of my rope…I love the bike, but can’t get it to run.

HELP****************************************! Please J

I got similar problem. First the tank cap is a stupid design with the threads that have openings. Unless the thing is SUPER tight, you are getting water and dirt into your tank.

Out of no where mine started running like crap (bog of bottom, pop stalls, lots of back fire on deceleration), basically a lean condition. Dealer thinks its bad gas, which is what he always says, so going to drain and try new gas. But this has happened before. The problem has come and gone, and I have heard the only way to fix the issue is with an EFI tuner.

BTW, I replaced my temp sensor, fuel injector, ECU (and other things). It runs good for a while then it starts running like crap again. When the bike runs good (about 20% of the time) it runs really clean and crisp, but the other 80% of the time I am constantly chasing bugs.

HELP ! Please J

To clean the injector you need to hook it up to a 9 volt battery to get it to open. Use compress air to blow thru it from the throttle body side. On the 13 you will need to remove the screen from the fuel line side and clean that as well. The screen is a tough to get out.

The gas cap has a rubber gasket in the top to seal it. If dirt and water are getting in that would mean gas would be able to leak out.

Got the 13 sorted out. Woohoo.

No dice on the 2011 txc...changed the pump, and the filter, cleaned everything up, went through the electrical connections, etc....runs great for 15 minutes, then its game over again.

Are you sure it runs good for the 15 minutes?
On my 2010 i had the jumper wire for eliminating the O2 sensor break and the bike ran like crap at anything past 1/4 throttle.
Also I've had broken valve springs.

Yup...rips for 15, then it goes into crap mode. Could it be the stator? Valves? I am grasping at straws here....

Matt, I'm running the JD Jetting tuner with the 12 port injector on mine.. I've never not had it run perfect.. yet. But,m, I don't ride as much as you do... I don't use race fuel, just high octane Sunoco, or Shell with the fuel tx. that Bob at CJC is recommending...

I asked Ty on your behalf and he said to remove all of your connectors, clean them and add silicon dielectric grease. Check for broken connections as Joe has mentioned. To me it sounds like a sensor, but I have had a spark coil act the same way, once it got warm, it stopped effectively producing spark above 1/4 throttle.

Hmm...interesting. I swapped the sensor twice already, thinking that was it...odds that I have 2 bad back up sensors should be slim to none. I did check all conncetions and used dialectic grease. Spark coil might be a good place to look next. Thanks****************************************!

The coil on my 2010 TE250 went bad.

Every time I went thru a puddle or washed the bike the bike started backfiring like you describe.

Replaced if new for $40 and all was well again.

Buy my 2 stroke and you will never have these problems!
