• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2000 TE410E Info Wanted

Husqvarna
AA Class
I just picked up another stray. It has 4700km on it and is all original other than LED turn signals.
Nothing has been done to it other than oil changes (I was told). It lived all of it's life on the street.
It surges around 3000rpms in the lower gears, but seems unnoticeable in 6th.
Any ideas on where to start?
What mods should be done to it for dual sport/street use? Luggage rear rack options?
It seems to be geared high for trail work. What do you suggest for a happy medium regarding gearing?
Any long term info on what to look for?
Seems down on power to my old 98 WXE410. How do I fix this?
How do you (did you) like yours?
Where do I get aftermarket exhausts, luggage, etc?
I'm replacing my beloved 90 XT350 Yammie and am planning on keeping the Husky (#8) long term. It has big shoes to fill, as the little Yammie does everything well. (Ok, it sucks in the suspension dept)
I owned a 98 TE410 and just loved it, although it was not plated. I've always loved the dual exhaust look. Very sexy!
Thanks in advance.

Try a CR8EIX plug, it should help eliminate the surging. The bike you have is a small version on the 610 dual sport that became popular. The TE410E is a fairly rare bike in the US so you will do a little hunting for info. Good luck !

Thanks for the reply. I'm slowly finding out how rare this model is, all the more reason to keep it, lol.
I'm having trouble finding any hop up info or aftermarket goodies for it at all. Not even Google is helping!
I guess I'll be scouring Flea Bay again for stuff.
I wonder if the enduro model tail pipes would work?
Would the TE 610 pipes work?
I'd love to get rid of the catalytic converters on it to start.

G'day endurokids, Mate I'm about to sell my 2000 TE410 (left kick only) as I have updated. I bought bike second hand and it had airbox mods ( 5x2in) holes cut into airbox to help it breath and exhaust moded to help it cough. Bike ran very smooth and was /is a great bike. www.husqvarnamotorcycles.com.au has workshop manual as free download. R&Dhusky in Aussie has high comp pistons for 2000 te. Yes parts are hard to find but they are out there. Any 610/400/410 parts are interchangable and usually found in USA, Canada, Italy or sometimes in Aussie. Good luck with the bike and have fun

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to give it a go with some minor mods and see how she does.

Will the '98 - 2002 TE 610 Enduro single exhaust fit on the 2000 TE 410 E model? I found a Pro Circuit 2 into 1 unit and was wondering if it will fit?

Howdy.

I just picked up a 2000 TE410E as well. Mine has low miles and I just took it for a spin around the neighborhood. My plastics are in poor condition and the battery is on it's last leg, but otherwise the bike seems to run great. Odd power delivery from what I am used to. It seems under powered, but gets along just fine. I was running 60 mph and had two gears left so I assumed it was geared too high. I took it off road and it pulled just fine in the lower RPMs/Speeds. I intend to clean it up, service everything and then spring the suspension for my 260 lb self. I think I will like it. I know it's not a rocket ship, I wasn't looking for one. It will be good for some decent distance on back roads. Mine had an over sized tank as well.

I agree that there is very little information on line. Luckily, I have a Husqvarna dealer within 10 miles of the house!

As I find more info on what is available or interchangeable, I'll do my best to post up.

Welcome to the club (of two) LOL.
I just rode my first dual sport last Sunday and it performed well. It is a little slow revving and fairly heavy for enduro type trails, but if went everywhere I wanted to go.
I think I'll keep it as is and try to find a TE 310 for more aggressive riding.
I want to send the seat in someplace for some better foam or perhaps a gel pad.
Any ideas where to get the seat modded?

I have had my 2000 410E for a few months now. I am converting to supermoto this week, and got new plastics from DC. I didn't know they were so rare. It seems geared for road, im gonna play with mine to make it a little quicker. I love it so far though.

Keep me posted on your mods because after the Husky buy out, I'm not going to buy another new Husky until the smoke clears.
I was considering the TE511 but that is really a BMW spec bike.
I am trying to find a place to send my seat to add a gel pad to it.

Here's the new plastics, they fit alright had to do some drilling and trimming. I also replaced the petcock with an acerbis one, it fits the holes, but due to space constraints I had to run only one of them, lessens the mileage a bit but I still get like 80 to 90 on a tank. I need to make spaces for the new front wheel, it has 26mm not 25mm bearings in it and a different spacing. I am going to get custom graphics made and will post the template once I do that.

Looks good. Good to know we have plastics options out there.
I just sent my seat in to Seat Concepts and am waiting for their call on my options.
