• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey all, I,m looking at a 2001 te 610, with a little over 1000 mi. What are your opinions on this bike and how is parts availability? Your advice and thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks, TL

Is it the street model (electric start) or the dirt model (left hand kick) ???

The Ad says it is a 2001, it has electric start, twin stock pipes, even still has the evaporate canister on it,it looks brand new in the pic,s I havnt seen it in person yet.

Gotta be a typo, might be the 2010 as I think the 610 didn't hit showrooms in 09. Parts are pretty good still with a few things getting depleted. Bike is solid, good for the 50/50 user, a beast in tight woods if you are a smaller guy. I have the SM in that model but an 08, so this bike is EFI and not to many add on goodies. Up-tite has some aftermarket pieces and you can always look around. But yah, gotta be a typo.

Never mind! That's the bike in ElDorado Hills. Must have plated it before the deadline. Gotta be a left kick, didn't think they were electric start by then. But it looks good for its age.

Yep Palmer84one, that's the bike. I just sold my 08 te450 and am selling my 07 farkled out KLR and I'm looking for something in-between. I've been on the big thumpers since late 80's. So if I can get the price down I may consider this bike, just tossing it around right now. I am beginning to lean towards a newer model, but if the engine and frame are the same then I could deal with the old school looks if the price is right. Thanks for your responses guys. TL

If it is electric start then it is a TE 610 E. Those bikes were factory street legal, unlike the left hand kick 610 which was a competition model. I had a 2000 model and it was a lot of fun and I regretted selling it. The newer bikes have a higher compression piston and switched to the FCR 41 carb for the power gains. If the price is good it it would be lots of fun.

Call him and check it out, I would lean to the E model if it electric start. Everything I have read is Left kick to 2004 than the E start came into play. I love my SM610 but I have to many bikes so it is on the market and the 09 TE450 might be next. Keeping my 08 TE450 and the new RS 520 Beta I just got. If you have the $ you should check one out, nice bikes. If you can get that guy down to say 27, 28 it would be a good deal. Market is flat and economy is slowly gaining, (not to greatly though.)
