  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2004 TE 250 Crankshaft/Conrod Source

Hi there,
i just got home with a 2004 TE 250 on my Trailer which i got for a good price with a broken engine...

Good thing (even its Bad): I knew the owner, he told me the last time he went out with the bike it started to make a noise from the engine, he stoped the bike and got it towed back home.
It really sounds like the big end bearing is on its last legs...

Problem: i can only find 2006 onwards Parts- the 04 part i can only get direct from Husky for a price which isnt worth the bike really.

Anyone got an idea if the newer style conrods will fit the old style engine? maye i have to machine the crankshaft to make it fit oder just get a newer crankshaft to fit the older engine?

I believe you can use the 06 and newer rod with the 04 but you also have to use the 06 and newer piston as well to keep TDC correct.

Good news- took the clutch cover off and Found 4 screw been loose and the kickstart gear not in the right place- Thats where the noise came from.
Will get some parts ordered and the bike should be back on track!

I did spent a few hours on my TE310, bike started fine, had loads of power but started to make strange noise... i found ot a Main bearing has been collapsed.
So i bought a new set, checked the crank is still ok and put everything back in its place
