  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2009 TC250 to start a new life

It's a shame, but I'm not able to viably repair this TC250 for a friend's son. It looks like the new owner is going to stick a 2 stroke in it! :)

It needed a new head
It had corrosion from the built-into-frame engine breather fall inside the tappet cover & damage one of the cam surfaces in the head & inlet cam.

Something to watch if you own this model I guess.
A simple piece of foam in the breather hose may have stopped the expensive failure.

..... if they know.
Just a heads-up to those unaware.

I'll try & follow the new owners build up if he's keen & post up some pics.

I don't quite follow what you guys are talking about with that frame - engine - breather ...

That's a very good frame and components there. After listening to KR94 talk about his last ride and why he got off it, he would definitively like riding a bike like that one ...

Ray, the breather hose on this bike connects to a tube on the frame. This unlucky bike got a little rust in there & the grains made their way down the hose into the tappet cover.
It hasn't done a whole lot of hrs, maybe too much sitting around & washing started it all?? Don't know.

I saw that hose going into the frame and though WTF? What's to keep it from rusting or whatever in there and ruining lots of bikes?

Spraying water under the tank and around the valve cover is just something I do not do to my bikes...

PS -- I could use that entire rig and I'd give the blue parts away to some teenager here :)

2 stroke hey, any idea on which engine?
Would be good to see the build.
The dude pulled out of the sale tonight. :(
Hopefully one of the other callers are a bit more solid.

One dude did call with a bike that had a buggered bottom end & offered a head....
