  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi guys new here joined the other day thought I'd say hi!

I have had 1 SMR450 and 2 SM610s but always said I'd never own a Husky MXer! (even up to 2 months ago)

But.....the wholesaler was running them out so cheap I couldn't say no!

I bought it and straight away took it to have the suspension set up for me and then it sat in the garage painfully while I kept going out to look at it hoping that all the b'days and parties would miraculously disappear. Anyway 2weeks and 2 days after I bought I got out on it!

I have to say I have never felt so comfortable getting on a new bike in my life! Even if I was getting on my YZ after a break for a month or 2 I wouldn't have felt that comfortable! I was/am amazed at it, I felt I could do almost anything on it! (still shaking my head)

I was so disappointed having to stop with hand cramps! :(

This is now my pride and joy so I will be throwing a little coin at it.

So what mods are people doing that make a difference?

The 1 thing that hasn't seemed to make sense to me in relation to the dyno graphs and the a$$ dyno is that short stroke motors don't make bottom end but make good top end. So what is missing in this puzzle? We know the exhaust is a restriction but the curve should still be more top end I would have thought. So is it just the pipe, or cam's, or ignition, inlet manifold/airbox??

I could be off here happy to be wrong, I'm just applying my knowledge from building car motors in another life so to speak.

Anyhow great to be very happy with well spent money! Hope everyone else is too!

I picked up a 2010 TC250 several months ago and I am glad I got it! It has been getting a work out between my son and I takin' turns on it(while I was rebuilding a '07 WR125 that I picked up for cheap for myself). The more time we put on it ,the better it got...and we ride trails and mx tracks!Stock gearing was good for the MX,but the 12/52 was good for tight woods ridin'. I did put in a JD RED NEEDLE,in the 5th position,50 leak jet ,40 pilot, heavy o'ring on accel/pump arm .It's hotter then "Hades" here in Florida,so I adjust fuel/air screw between 1 1/2-2 turns out. I am saving up to get the Akropovic full exhaust system...I've ridden another TC250 set up identical to my mine that had the Akro pipe and I was immediately sold on it!
Best of luck on your new TC ! It's been a great bike for us!
Have a good day,

I also really enjoy my TC. The only things I have done to mine is put on a ZipTy skid plate, roost guards, JD jet kit, and one tooth bigger on the sprocket. The bike is an awesome do all bike. Easy to ride fast. Amazing handling. I would like to try an aftermarket pipe (but need a sparky) and some more aggressive cams (if available).

Congrats! I have one too and like you said it's so easy to ride out the box it's unreal. As far as mods we called Halls and they had a jetting kit and a few other carb mods that made running and starting the bike a lot easier. We also installed a finger type adjustible air screw. The biggest improvement came with the Leo Vince slip on; really woke the bike up. I 'll check jsleeper but I think it came with a removable sparky. Any way I think you are really gonna like the TC after a few simple mods. BTW we read the same mag crap about the TC being slow etc but we've clocked our fastest MX track times on it and not the 07 Honda 450R, 06 Suzuki 450, KTM SX 450, KTM SX 505 with full Ohlins TTX we had so maybe they find it slow and under powered but for us it's getting it done.
