  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
hi guys,
im new to riding and just bought a new 2010 te250 for my first bike.
i have got a few questions to ask about general riding and extras.

1. Is it bad practice to start the bike in first gear?

2. The bike doesn't have a choke on the side of the motor like in the manual. But it has a small lever on the left side near the clutch that i was told by the dealer was the choke. how do i use the choke properly? As i have heard different stories on how to use it off many people.

3. I want too install ego es2 bark busters on the bike but I'm not sure which mount kit i use for the stock te250 bars.

4. What sort of bash plate is best to replace the stock plastic bash plate that came with the bike?

5. Is it possible to replace all the plastic guards on the bike with metal stronger ones? ie chain guard, sprocket guard etc.

thankyou

Never had any trouble starting the 250 in any gear

Hot start on the handlebar.. no choke with the FI

As long as the clamps are for the Magura bars that should be fine

P3 has awesome carbon fiber skid plate, header pipe and boot guard.

I used TM designs for the rear but BRP is a great sourse for the chain guide and are also sponsors for the site so go with them.

Zip ty was our choice for the case saver/hydo saver.. Enduro engineering was the choice for the rear carrier and disc guard but again there are more choices today then back in September of 09 when we got our 2010 TE 250

Hope it helps

Barkbuster egos fit good , get white ones.As for the skid plate ive got a genuine husky alloy plate which looks the goods. As for the Choke the 2010 310 has a cold start lever on left hand side above starter motor.

fast idle/choke

On your 2010 TE250 its a fast idle for cold starts.Just gently hold it wide open and keep holding for about 15-30 seconds while it fast idleing when cold, then let it off.
Its not a must but they do start better cold and wont die and have to be restarted a couple times during warm up.
