  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 TE250 New Cam & Ecu ReFlash WOW!

Unfortunately I don't think you can purchase just the ECU. The Part Number on my Leo ECU is the same part number as the stock ECU. So it does not have a dedicated part number and if you ordered a replacement there is no way of telling which one you would get.

I wonder what the dealer is supposed to do if you return it?

Maybe you can order an ecu directly from Leo Vince. But it would be nice if the factory fixed it with a service bulletin to the dealers.

I have a early model TX250 2010 as well. 1200 miles on the clock...

Paul at "Dual Sport Motorcycles in Ledbury, UK" has done the following recalls:-

New Yuasa battery.
New Electric start shaft and gears.
The updated EFI module.

Waiting to go in for new Exhaust cam shaft with updated automatic decompresser.

Trying to sort out fix to dry clutch plates. We know what holes to drill to fix problem. But at the moment there is no recall...

The next thing for me will be to look at all the chaffed wires under the tank and stop the clutch hose and wiring touching the exhaust...

regards.

You can order the ECU for the Leo Vinci separately but if you are running the standard pipe then the fuelling will be wrong. The ECU is mapped to suit the characteristics of the less restrictive pipe.

This ECU is a Husqvarna produced part so would need to be ordered from Husqvarna not Leo Vinci.

A reflash for standard ECUs is coming soon so the best option is just to wait a little longer. As aethelred says we have had a few modified ECUs already to test and they work well.

Does anyone have a scanned copy of any of the documentation from Husky on these "recalls"?

Yes. There is a noticeable difference with the new ECU. Top end especially and it does not affect the already good mid range. I will stick with what I think is a perfectly good standard pipe. But then again the engine has loosened up considerably since new and that makes the bike a lot quicker...

Are you by any chance Dave Plu*er?

Top "Husky factory" man in UK. No less. Excellent to see you on Cafe Husky...

Can't fault the support from Husqvarna.

PS. Any info on dry clutch?

Our first reflash disc arrived today. Haven't tried it yet but no reason to suggest it will be any different to the reflash method for the 2008s as the disc is used in conjunction with the same tool.

Will start new thread with affected chassis number ranges so it's easy to find.
