  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 TE450 No pump prime and won't start.

Bikerdad,
Did you get the WTS replaced and did it fix the problem?

I have the same symptoms but the WTS didn't fix the problem. Fuel pump is my next swap...

Im running out of ideas.

Mike

Mike, following your problem... seems to point to the fuel pump. Sounds like power is getting to it from your reports. Seems you checked everything else-

So, I started with the wires again front to back and had high hopes....

The front brake mirco-switch wire at the connector was loose and the two clutch wires at the lever were barely hanging on (remove the rubber boot to see).

Rotated the Fan and DC relay to see if that changed anything, it didn't.

Went for a ride and it died in the same damn spot as last time (red light at idle)....long walk home.

Changed the fuel pump with a new one and tested the old one. Hummmed to life when hooked up to a 12 volt. Took her out for a spin, tore up the back yard for :15 minutes, fan was "on", so I turned her off/on, fuel pump primed every time and started right up....this was looking promising!

Hit the road and wacked the throttle and......she died! Fuel pump primed each time I tried to start, but would not fire. Now that its cooled off, she still won't start. :excuseme:

Going to check fuses and relay's again, and replace the coil while Im in there.

Im out of ideas, parts and $ to put into this bike.

I called my local dealer (1 hour away) and he suggested I go to Halls (3+ hours away)

Anyone want to trade a Yamaha WR250R for a slightly used TE510
