  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 310??

Huskybloke

Husqvarna
AA Class
i had an 05 husky TE 510 and loved it and then ive gone to the darkside an bought a 2010 KTM 300 great bike heaps of power i do like the 2 stroke power but i dont like the dings in the expansion chamber even with a whipps pipe guard and thought about goin back to a 4 stroke but ive have got used to the light weight with power compared to the weight of the 510, now my question is after riding a 2010 310 and finding good power when you revved the freckle out of it does the new designed motor based on the 250 lightweight produce better linear power and it is a better bike all over??

You will love the KTM 300.

I rode my Son's Husaberg TE300 not so long ago and was very impressed (essentially the same as a KTM 300).
He is currently sitting in 3rd spot in our SAORC Enduro series with it and IMO the bike possesses the perfect ballance of all elements required for racing. Super competitive ride.

Husky really needs to get moving and get a hydraulic clutch and electric starter happenning. That would be an awsome bike.

I am a 4 stroke guy, currently on a TE511, also an awesome bike.

The '11 TE310 is everything the '10 TE310 is. And more.

It's lighter and handles better. Some say the '10 is a better trail bike and the 310 is more of a race bike. I'm not an experienced enough rider nor have I ridden my '11 enough to be able to confirm or deny that assessment. So far, I like the bike, though and I'm not a racer. I do find the lower end of the rpms lacking and I had to bump the idle up to keep it from stalling. Word is there's some efi mapping changes coming, but I've heard that from my shop for months now... If the response bothers you much, there are options to tweak it yourself (JD Jetting controller or a PCV/AT).

I have owned the ktm for nearly 12 mths and it is a great bike suspension , power it really does have a lot goin for it but thinking of goin back the 4 strokes on next update

I went from the te 510 to a 2011 te 310 and never looked back!! Its so nice and light in tight woods sections with plenty of power. the only thing i needed to get use to, was the lack of engine bracking going down hills. the 510 had loads, the 310s got nowt. Get rid of that ORANGE BUCKET, all the parts are bound to drop off it eventually and buy that 310.
The 2012 models will be out soon, personally i think the silver wheels and black frame looks a bit naff>

ive already got used to the lack of engine braking with the 2 stroke but from the replys ive got it sounds you have to ride the 310 similiar to the 300 2 stroke
went and had a look at a new one yesterday and having a look at a low km( 600km)second hand one with somw nice aftermarket bling on it today

I like my TE 310 2011. Came from CRF450X. Only issue is top end. I don't need to do 80mph in desert so I am ok.
