  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 te 310

Croc

Husqvarna
AA Class
Trooper Lus has the very first TE 310 in stock in Oz. Id like it, but will settle for a test ride

you should stand corrected..... full throttle had one a week and a half ago....ps full throttle is the number 1 dealer in aus and are right near pfg they get all husky stuff first

I think you find R&D is the number one dealer & I think TL has had the 310 a while. They are not sure if they will sell it or demo it

r&d number1 in nsw....TL did not have a 310 when i was up there a week ago......but said they have some 310s pre sold

Very political this stuff huh! All very good shops and we all got them shipped at the same time. We had three now sold and have got another three on the way. We dont always have them on display not enough room and had pre orders. We cant get a 310 demo yet due to demand they will not let us hold one as a demo but trust me as soon as we can we will, anyone is welcome for a test ride, even if you buy somehwere else no worries by me. As for who got what first comes down to the chicken and the egg. Full throttle are up the road from PFG but with overnight freight we still get our items pre ordered and shipped literally as they land at PFG, so does R&D I believe and they are on the ball with that stuff to I hear. The good news is 3 good dealers, lots of new models, lots of 2010 specials and great for the brand. We are still playing with the low end settings as initial ride impressions seem to suggest that there is some room to extract a bit more low end grunt. Will keep you posted.

Hey Trooper, glad to hear they are coming through. If they are any improvement over the 2010's they will be a great bike. The one you sold me is a pearler. Are the 449's and 511's also coming on line.

hay TL your shop is going in leaps and bounds 100% enthusiasm for the husky keep up the good work

ps.... anyone looking at huskys give these guys a call r&d and trooperlu both great people

that doesnt sound good at all,my biggest gripe with last years 250 was no low end!

not sure how it would be much different they are using the same transmission, which first gear is way too tall, doesnt matter what they do to the motor, you can only roll around in first if you are quite a few rpms over idle,on a two stroke thats fine, but on a modern four stroke your idle is considerably higher

my problem is that the 2009 model TXC with the older style motor required NO clutching to race and ride around our area, you have to constantly abuse the clutch to prevent the bike from stalling,I dont think its lacking power anywhere,it has plenty of getup and go for me once under way,im sure a faster more aggressive rider might not mind it,but im not ready to start abusing my clutch in order to make up for the trans being geared too high, why does it need to be that tall??

+1 from me also. I bought some parts for my Husky from Trooper Lu's and they were shipped the same day, received the next day and all at around half the price of the other distributor in Australia of the parts I was after.

The 310 is a 6-speed, correct? .... Is the top gear very tall? My 08 TXC250 1st gear would never be considered too tall ..

I don't think feathering the clutch is abusive unless you are doing something like holding the throttle WO and trying to feather it ... It's gotta be built to handle simple clutching or you don't really have a bike ... U have a shell of the bike ... (AKA. china brand) ... Its just another skill for riding a bike and really separates rider skill and speed ...

Hey lets see some shots of your 310 in action, dying to get a good riding report from you when she has freed up a bit more.

Hi all, The 310 is definitely a more bottom end machine. It appears the throttle body is larger then the 250 therefore requirig a bit more air speed to get things right. we have had it idle up a touch a a little trickery with the tps settings has worked a treat. We are finding each bike different so I cant just ramble off the specs otherwise someone will say it did not work and they will be probably right!! How about this i just but my smr 510 on the dyno I have got cams made, power commander titanium exhaust and the 530cc hi comp husky performance kit. We have got 56 hp at the rear wheel with 40.6ft poind of torque. Last week I clocked 194km/hr down the straight at eastern creek and got 1min55secs. So next week on the 12/13 nov I think, I am racing in formula 5 bears at e/creek. I will be up against a few 690 ktm's which are pretty quick. Si I will let you now how it goes. My concern is will it hold together we have seriously tweaked this bike. I am 105kg so this thing is working its ring out.
With the 450 and 510 for 2011 I have 8 on order but will not see any until jan/feb next year. a real bummer as I want one!! I will keep people posted. Also thanks for the feedback. If any person is ever unhappy or you hear anything wrong please let me know as it is the only way I can ensure we keep prices real and service good. I just ordered a heap more 7602 stuff, p3 carbon stuff and uptite husky stuff. A trap though is 2010 bash plates of the te 250 do not fit the 2011's as there is a new frame. So thats life and we are modifying existing ones now and will see new stock in the new year. Other stuff seems to be the same thus far.

Hey Troopers Dad, what is the TE and SMR 630 really like on the bitumen. I am looking for an additional bike and feel the 1200GS and 990 Kato are too big. The GS 800 does not do it for me. I want to go for 2-3 hour week end blats, mostly bitumen, but also want to do the out back camping stuff as well-say 2-3 times a year. I have have my doubts about one lungers for extend ed bitumen work particularly if logging 120kms consistantly etc. I have considered doctoring a Ducati 796 Hypermotard or an Aprillia Dorsoduro. Penny for your thought. The reason I threw in the SMR, one of our top lady riders at cafe husky has a 450 smr with knobbies and a bash plate-thought it was a pretty cool blend.

1st is very tall and the other 5 gears are tight.
The new 250 really needs a lower 1st and higher 6th.

Fury is a AA rider and I'm sure he knows how to use a clutch. Our enduros are super tight and all that clutching can overtax the 900cc of oil quickly.

Meantime a lot of guys love the Rekluse on the new 250.

I tried one and it worked great.

The 250 is a little weak right off bottom and the 310 should fix that.

The new 250 really needs a lower 1st and higher 6th.

They've needed that since at least 2003. Husky builds the TE/TXC competition bikes for WEC European style closed course events with expert and pro level riders in mind & fuels stops every 50 km.

They don't seem to have any idea what type of terrain & events are ridden in all of the Americas and Australasia & what type of real world riders are actually buying the bikes. We need versatile wide range transmissions - period.

Recently one of their guys was over here doing Service training & was shown a video of some of the stuff we ride in Ontario (ie. water x-ings). Apparently, he said they aren't even allowed to ride thru water in Italy for testing. ???

I am riding a sm630 at present and I love it. It has the pipes a rear rack and the bag. I also have a TE630 here. I actually do really like them if they are used for their purpose. S in a nutshell. SM630 I would ride around town all day and do some nice sporty rides on. I could ride it for a couple f hurs no worries as far as comfort is concerned. The Te is great to ride to say Lithgow and do some fire trails, low end single tracks, exploring and ride home. The engines are in fact very strong and durable if serviced properly with genuine il filters. I am racing a sm530 at the moment. I rev it to 10,500 rpm, it has a cam power commander etc and I am getting 194km/hr out of it. I have used in heaps on track days etc and it has not missed a beat. So I think the TE SM with the stronger bottom end and the same te510 top end would be an awesome machine. If you are keen see me as I have the 2 of them I want to move on.
