  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

2011 TE250 cooling fan

Can some one please help me I put engine ice in the radiotors bike has never bubbled or boiled bought it with 50hrs now has 84 went trailer riding the other day steep rocky hill climbing more like.and for the first time it over heated starts just fine bu t no cooling fan still what or how should I cheak the operation
 
My Te250 fan never came on and I removed it.

It comes on all the time on my 2012 TXC310

Yours should come on when the motor boils for sure!

problem is either a wiring fault, bad fan motor or a bad fan relay.

Fan is turned on my a relay under the right side cover. It is the one to the front of the bike I think.
Get a multi meter and check for voltage after you jump the relay.
Maybe swap the relay with the headlight relay which should be the one to the rear of the bike and see it it turns on when hot.
 
Also, the radiator cap may be weak and causing it to loose fluid well before it is hot enough to kick the fan on.

A fan not turning on can be either a faulty fan, faulty temp sensor, faulty relay or the wiring in between. You can power the fan directly to check it. Sensors are relatively inexpensive as well as the relays.
Lastly, EngineIce is way too thick to use, especially if you have an inline thermostat. If you wish to continue using waterless coolants, you should try either of mine.
 
Thank you tinken for info I will switch coolants as you suggested I have had good results with ice on all bikes 2& 4stroke I will also check wiring again it never lost or leaked just slight boiling sounds
 
Why do people delete the fan and I run Castrol10w50RS do you recommend changing weight on oil and specific brand my bike also temp sensor and fuel pump were replaced per Malcolm smith warranty
 
Clutch is starting to make churping noises when I first take off but goes away when riding do I need new plates or those little rubber things or springs diaphram?and can l add a fly wheel weight for more low end traction?
 
You re right can i have the address I would like to bring it to the shop it needs its routine maintaince valves would like to get the suspension dialed I have a lowering link itas a world of difference but would like it to be set up for. 185 I also need a skid plate and I guess that throttle tube also need txc injector and cdi or JD tuner or c an you just I beat or cost on bullet proofing the motor which I have yet to have a problem besides the common would like some info on some custom builds or just necessary parts and and do you guys have flywheel weights budget is 1500
 
Forget a flywheel weight. It weighs enough already and more weight will only make it more likely to spin and shear the key.
