  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 TE310 Weight

Does anyone know the actual weight of the 2011 te310? Thinking about trading my 2010 TE450 for one but want to make sure I would be getting a lighter bike.

I haven't rolled mine over a sacle, but the specs say 233lbs w/o fuel. So about 245lbs fully wet. It's lighter than the 450. Also has a shorter wheelbase and lower seat, although it sounds odd saying it's seat is LOWER as I need a freaking step ladder to get on the thing...

i'm curious too cause my 08 te250 with 310 kit,omg rad braces, soft seat foam, michelin s12's,zip ty crank guard, power up arrow, trail tech headlight, led rear plate holder, full on fuel is 280 lbs. I am hoping it will be at least under 250lbs wet.

Yeah according to the spec. sheet the 310 comes in at 233 lbs. and the 450 at 244. Is there really only a 10lb. difference between the two? Lower seat height sounds good and I heard you can get a lower seat pan for them. mnb hows the power on the new 310?

I can only speak for the 08/09's, but a 310 TXC feels about 30 lb lighter than a 450 TE when you are riding it, even though the scales may not agree.

I'm 5'11", 29" inseam, 280lbs and it has enough power. I'm not fond of the EFI response in the lower RPM range, it HAS the power to do the job there, but it just runs a bit rough or erratically. Basically, flog it, and it does great. That's a bit of an exaggeration, but it's not just extra clutching at lower rpms that's required for smaller displacement, it's definitely lacking in the EFI mapping down low.

Of course, the 29" inseam means I can barely touch the ground and I need a step to get on the bike. God help me if I dump it in a wide flat area without at least a fence post to use as an aid.

I like the bike, though. I knew it would be tall and I think we might be able to improve the low end response. A custom map might be necessary, which would be annoying, but I'll talk to the shop about it and see what they recommend. What do you folks think?

The 250 is about 116 kg with fuel and a 09 250 is 121kg approx - 12 lbs difference between 250s so 450 would be slightly more difference
The ktm 250s are lighter with more fuel

anyone weigh there 11 310 yet, just curious if she is heavier since the frames are a little different from 10 te250?

I am also inseam challenged. 29" inseam 180lbs. Makes to 450 a bit of a bear sometimes. No problems power wise, just when you need to throw a foot down to correct yourself there is no ground beneath your feet. Talked to James Renazco he suggested getting the entire suspension lowered properly, said it makes a big difference. Anyway that is where the TE310 idea came in.

I will post the real weight soon with picks. As for inseam challenged you talking to the king of that.... lol I have cut my seat so far and after my suspention breaks in the suspension will be lowered. Give me a few weeks to do this.
