  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 TXC 250 Dead in the woods

Hi all some input would be helpful, My Buds 2011 TXC 250 just died today in the woods. It wants to start in fact in will for a split second and die. We changed the spark plug trailside and took air filter in/out/in. Tried to bump it etc. Had to tow it home. Thinking something in the fuel system? Thoughts? Thanks Jim

Is the fuel pump running?
Does it pop or backfire or just die quietly like someone hit the kill switch?
Rich it's dies quietly and yes the fuel pump is running, kick starting would get it to fire for a split second like she wants to go!

These bike's electrical systems do not like water.

I've had two x-lite coils go when the insulation separated from the center lug and stall and do the same thing.

Clean and lube all electrical connectors and check the coil for separation at the lug.

the goods news is coils are like $30 new.

huh. ...got any pictures?

The Saga continues, ok looked over all electrical connections, they look good, took out fuel pump found it was not in holder correctly , fixed that, took off throttle body clean crap out of that, tried a different injector. Bike still does the same thing, will want to start and does for a split second and dies. we are believing could possibly be the fuel pump not providing enough pressure. its starts better with the kick starter like every 5th kick once the pressure bulids up, does that make any sense? Thanks Guys!

FOUND IT!!! nice crack in the fuel filter! not obvious to the naked eye. we did the bucket with gas test and low and behold there it was shooting gas out the side of the filter body! same thing happened to mine last year! except I had dealer find it!

Happy to report Town And country Cycle had the stuff we needed to fix the leak in the fuel pump And she fired right up! Thanks For everyone's input!
