  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 TXC 250 pros & cons

Briggs

Husqvarna
A Class
Thinking about picking up a 2011 TXC 250. Anyone had any problems with them. What are the pros and cons of the bike.

Great bike. Light and racy. Motor seems to last a long time and likes abuse. Cons are it really needs the JD EFI tuner to run right. Also some think it is on the slow side. The last thing is the gearing is real tight. Fine for woods and stuff but not for faster stuff.

The trick is to be fast in the woods.

these guys seemed to do OK on it...

Husqvarna CH Racing Monster Energy Team rider Juha Salminen has been crowned Enduro 1 world champion, placing his TE250 on the top step of the E1 class podium on the first day's competition at the final round of the 2011 series - the GP of France.

"This has been a fantastic season for us in so many ways," said Husqvarna Racing coordinator Martino Bianchi. "But the most important thing is that we proved the competitiveness and reliability of both the TE250 and TE310. This is a great time for Husqvarna and for everyone in the company as well as for the CH Racing Team

enjoy when you get it.as been said it is soft on the bottom and is a bit prone to stalling.perhaps the jd tuner will help this issue.handles real nice.suspension is a bit harsh up front but is tunable.exhaust is kind of loud.relaible and easy to work on.dan

Been on two 70+ mile rides so far and love the bike. Feels 100#s lighter than my '08 TE450. It handles like a dream and the suspension is better than anything I've ridden. In case the bike looks familiar -- It was Jason Thomas' practice bike.

Cool! I also have a 08 TE 450 and agree the 11 250 is light feeling. I used to ride my 450 like a race bike but never wanted to race it. Since my purchase of a 11 TE 250 I started racing. Confidence inspiring! Now my 08 450 is making a great dual sport bike. What are you doing with your 08?

I put a set of dual sport tires on it and sold it as a dual sport.
