  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 TXC 250 With 2016 Fender

A Class
Hi guys just purchased my second husky a new non current 2011 txc 250 from a dealer not too far from me. Was looking at some posts online with guys who have aftermarket rmz and yzf fenders on their huskys but i was wondering if anyone has put the front fender and/or number plate from a newer 2016 style bike on their older one? Is this possible without a bunch of mods to the fender or mounting? A picture of one with this setup would be wicked to see? What kind of aftermarket setup looks the best? Was hoping to stick to a husky fender to keep things proper but was thinking about givin my older bike a quick face lift to keep up with the new times for fairly inexpensive!

Going to be adding a few other things to the bike once I get it home and I'll be sure to post a picture or twooo!

Thanks
Harvooo

Leaning towards an RMZ front because I personally like the way it looks better. It should fit with only a couple more holes in the fender correct?

holes: yeah, probably. I put a crf fender on my 310r... it took 4 new holes in the fender and a slight bending of the headlight/front plate brackets (I also had to trim it to clear the header). I agree that the RMZ fenders are one of the best looking- I just couldn't locate one in red.

good luck.

Here you can see the 4 holes (along with some silicone glued nylon spaces I needed to add); this was taken when I was in the middle of trimming the rear portion for clearance.

Well yours turned out pretty nice looking too! For the $30 I can get a fender for from Royal Distributing I think ill get an RMZ and see what I can do to make it fit. Ill update in a week or two when I get to trying it out how it goes. Until then any more tips would help

One good looking option is to mount the 449/511 front fender a headlight. It looks like the new 2016 fender and its plug and play
