  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 TXC 511...IN SHOP AGAIN...FUEL INJECTION PROBLEMS

db511

Husqvarna
A Class
Runs great at first then starts idling high and flaming out. Dealer has reset TPS, wiped program, now Husky wants them to try a new throttle body. By the way, after above attempts it will barely idle now. Have posted about this before. Love bike but am now wondering if I should have gone with another KTM. Just saying.....

That sux. I have a friend who has issues that sound a lot like yours. Still waiting to hear what's up with his deal...

Yeah, gets pretty scary. Engine breaking all day and then just none or it accelerates. Then conks out in a tight spot. Hopefully they get it worked out. Will post what I learn about it.

HI DB511,
Flame out hitting a corner is a problem described in a few posts that have solutions for the TE in CA.
Can you start the bike and ride, only dies in corners on deceleration, down hills or making a stop? Can be hard to start again after the bike stalls. Idles High then back down after 2-4 seconds? This describes a TE problem with CA equipment, does this sounds the same? TE seem to have a few solutions.

Any other observed symptoms you can help describe while riding? You have a TXC with a different throttle body then our TE have. Hopefully Given some time, Cafehusky Fans that understand the TXC could point out some other post or possible solutions.

Cracked throttle body has come up in another thread, just not sure if it was on a 449/511 or what year. Replacement solved issues and I think the warranty covered it.

I had the Throttle Body almost come off once after a deceleration POP! Clamps were loose after some maintenance :)

Another Post, I would not recommend any do it your self repairs if a dealer is performing warrentee work

Still waiting on a new throttle body. Desertyucca, thanks for the info. It does very similar things to what u have described. The high idle will not go down until I let the clutch grab a little with the brake on. Sometimes it will try to run me right through a corner, or tree, when down shifting. Expect that from a 2t;) will post any new news. Also it has had a JD TUNER since I bought it. Dealer installed.

i have a 2011 txc511 and had the same issue with the high idle at random times that would not come down and it would push through the corners and took it back to the dealer. they said the idle adjustment was way out and they adjusted it into spec and i rode it this weekend. never once did the idle hang or die and engine braking is finally where it should be. make sure they are following tps reset procedures and not just adjusting by the seat of their pants.

Well, was going to ride today after getting a new throttle body installed (2012 model warranty) at dealer. Started bike in back of my truck goofing around and what do you know? A fuel leak. They are killing me!! So I'll be back in there first thing this morning.....again.

Sorry to hear about the trouble! Not to many places to have a fuel leak. Sounds like a loose Fuel line clamp! Fuel pumps produce around 40PSI for the injector so a good clamp is needed on the Injector fuel inlet hose. Good Luck lets us know what it was!

I would take it back but I'd also get some pieces to fix things myself. Clamps, hose and maybe a tool. I've heard the clamps are difficult without the right tool and maybe single use type items.

This is one of the reasons I hang around the shop, to see how things are done and ask questions, hopefully without slowing things down.

Took it in and it wouldn't leak!! WTH? Must have had a kink or something. The shop has done good job, taken good care of me. Riding for sure tomorrow, will know how well it works. Will be watching for leak to pop back up...

Got to ride for a couple of hours today and what a difference!!! No flaming out, no over revving and no flats. No problems with slow tight stuff and awesome in the open. I doses atleast an fmf slip-on in my future. Some how fell off of stand over night and dented the muffler pretty as. (I believe a wife, dog, or kid was involved) Yesterday just wasn't a good day. Oh well, good excuse to get an upgrade!! Thanks for all the help!!
