  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2012 TXC 310 removing hot start cable at throttlebody

need2boat

Husqvarna
AA Class
I'm having an issue with the hot start cable hanging up. Looking at the left side of the throttle body can anyone tell me how to remove it. Do I just remove the bass collar adjuster. I looked at the manual but couldn't find anything nor a picture to see what the end of the cable looks like.

thanks Joe

Just unscrew it. Mine would get dirt in it. I put small cable ties on the rubber boot to seal it better.

I did the same thing around the boot on the clutch lever. The end down at the throttle body looks clean but I'm guessing the cables binding at that end and needs some cleaning. The cable are relatively 8-$10.00 new but the shipping about the same. I'll see if I can lube this one and add it to the next order.

thanks Joe

For those who might be doing this in the future a few tips.

i found it easier to remove the cable first at the clutch/hot start lever to gain some free play.

When loosing the brass fitting at the throttle body (11mm) if you gently pop the rubber gasket off at the elbow it will be easier to back out the collar. Mine had a good bit of gunk in there so it didn't feel like it would spin out but once the gasket was pushed back it loosened easier.

So, on my bike, I need to remove this cable, as it is losing with some movement on the throtle body end. When you remove it, did you leave the hole open? How can I close the hole where the cable enters the engine?

This valve lets air in to raise the idle i believe.

I guess you have to plug it with something.

Use a vacuum cap or something?

I just removed it to clean the cable then replaced it. If you're pulling removing it completely I would take the brass piece to the hardware store and buy a bolt with the same threads. You could also cover the end with a vacuum cap like Rich said but I know my luck I'd loose it when ridding, the bike would start running like shit and I'd be scratching my head for hours before I'd remember about the cap!
