  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

So I took my son riding last weekend, bike ran fine, even after sitting for a prolonged time.

He rode three 15 minute track sessions, all ok.
Came home & washed the bike, towel dried, then rode it 'round the neighborhood for a few minutes, all good.
Decided to change the oil, went thru the warm up ritual, changed the oil, rode it again (neighbors sure are tolerant).

So thinking we would go riding yesterday, I wheeled the bike outside. Little reluctant to start up, but did after 3-4 kicks. Pushed in the enricher knob & after a few seconds, she died. I told myself I'm being too hasty, pulled the enricher , started her up again, let idle for 45 seconds and pushed the enricher. Idle is a little low, but the bike is running.

Thought is would be good to ride it through the neighborhood again, so I take it up a long gentle hill & notice some fueling hiccups.....coming back down hill with closed throttle, the bike dies. Starts right back up with a healthy kick and I bring her back to the garage.

This morning, my son asks about riding, so I wheel the bike out and kick. And kick. And kick some more, but no start. I'm starting to think bad fuel, so I drain the tank & refuel with fresh stuff. No luck. Enricher is 34 turns out from full right.

My right leg is telling me that the compression seems fine. I have not pulled the plug (none of the shops around here on open on Sundays, so I wouldn't be able to find one anyway).

Does this sound like a plugged injector or bad fuel pump? Valves needing adjustment? Stator?

This is the first issue with this bike & I'd prefer to narrow down the checklist in advance of taking the bike to the shop.

Thanks in advance.

Could be the fuel pump. I always run a fuel additive to try and keep the fuel system from getting gummed up.

Would this be the same fuel pump assembly in a 310? Sounds very similar to the issues I am having.
