  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 TE 511 Question

Putting an FMF pipe on my 2013 TE 511 because I'm too lazy to gut the cat. Revzilla can't confirm if 2012 and 2013 are the same exhaust. They don't know the part number and neither does FMF. Any of you guys know if 2012 and 2013 are the same?

Just for future reference, the 449/511 bikes are identical from 2012 on. Only the 2011 is different. It had a slightly larger frame, longer rear shock, and wiring harness that was susceptible to problems. Engine parts are same for the whole life span of the bike. Lots of feedback from race teams such as ZipTy Racing prompted Husqvarna to redesign the frame, shorten the rear shock for better handling, and fix the problems with the wiring.

Is the 2011/2012 split also when the frames went from white to black? I've got a white framed version, so assume that it is the oldest one with the longer shock. What were the wording harness problems associated with this vintage? Mine seems fine...

Yes, that's correct white frame 2011. I had my shock shortened 10mm by Zipty. Luckily I have really long legs so seat height isn't a big deal for me. The harnesses are prone to loop back faults and the connectors in some places are not water tight. That being said mine is fine too. I don't submerge it, there's no water in the stream beds out here anyway unless you happen to be riding in a downpour.

This is from rockymountainatvmc - not sure if part # is the same at rev. But it worked for me '13 511 - don't forget to go to race map 2
