  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 TE511 ignition switch?

Blaster11

Husqvarna
A Class
So I picked up an ignition switch for my new 511 but don't really see the mating plug for it, have any of you guys done this and if so do you have any pictures to show where it plugs in?

Follow the RH switch harness behind the headlight and you will find a 4-wire white plug. The new switch should plug in-line with that harness. I'm going off the switch I installed from Sicass racing..

Did the switch from sicass also, remove front fender (4bolts) 1 or 2 bolts for headlight/number plate. Follow the wires
From headlight switch and plug it in, make sure it is routed so not to be pulled or strained when turning bars, think
I use a wire tie to keep in in the bundle where I wanted it.

So I went out today and dropped the fender and headlight assembly and there is definitely no plug back there which matches the plug on the ignition switch, 6 pin. I guess I will be calling the dealer tomorrow and verifying the ignition switch part #. In case anyone was wondering the part # is 8000A8903 and the bike is a 2013 TE511. Does anyone know where I can find a parts fiche for the 2013 bikes, all I can find is the 2012's?

I sent them an email and asked, this is what they told me:

Yes it will work on the 2013

I think I recall the sicass switch plugs into your kill button wiring on both ends, you should see when you get it,
The key really just kills the bike so it can not be started in the off position. When you turn on the key you can start
It but it does not activate the dash etc...

Called and spoke to the dealer today which had to call Husky, apparently their is a complete wiring harness for the 2013 ignition switch. The ignition switch was part of the sale but they want me to pay $120.00 for the wiring harness, I am going to try and work a deal. Stay tuned.

The complete wiring harness as you stated before, would you happen to have a part number or info on that?
