  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 TE511 - TC449 Exhaust Mod Part Needed!!

jaked308

Husqvarna
AA Class
I have been waiting for FMF to take the Powercore 4 exhaust off of backorder for a few months now. I called to check on it the other day, and they had a full 4.1 / megabomb exhaust for the TC449 in stock so I ended up jumping on that. Based on posts on this exhaust swap, I attempted to order the required OEM parts (thanks Tinken!). I have everything I need except for the flange (part number 8000 H5992).

I checked with my local dealer and Hall's. Both did not have it in stock, and Hall's says that it has been on back order for months. Any ideas of other shops to try, or if anyone happens to have dimensions so that I could have one made?? I'm taking the bike to the Six Days of Michigan a week from today, so time is running short. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I made one, see here:
http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/tc449-exhaust-sleeve.36205/

I also ordered one from my local dealer, took several months on back order before I received it.

Here are the approximate dimensions, I tweaked a little until it fit:
OD1 = 1.95" (49.5mm)
OD1 height = 0.43" (11mm)
OD2 =1.83" (46.5mm)
ID = 1.75" (44.5mm)
Total height = 0.83" (21mm)

I used a sleeve bearing of 2" OD, 1.75" ID, and 1.5" length which worked as a pretty good starting point.

I really appreciate the information. I was able to get that part from my dealer. The part that I'm lacking is the flange that bolts to the head, and the springs attach to. Any information on that part would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Oops, read that too fast. I got that flange from Bill's several months ago. Maybe he stocked up.

I just got off the phone with Bill's. They had the part!!! Thanks for the tip. Great guys over there!
