Well, i was finally able to get up into the mountains and do some single track riding. American Fork Canyon near Lehi UT. I just came off a 2007 Yamaha WR 450 that i loved, except for the weight. I can't tell you how impressed I am with this 310. I still have some breaking in of the suspension and it was the first really hard ride i put on the motor. The more I ride it, the more i love it. The low end grunt it takes to get up some of these trails makes this bike shine even more. The light feeling, the ease in turning, the throttle response and brakes are fantastic. I was getting a bit of a lag at times, almost like it was running out of gas but just a twitch of the throttle and it went away. I'm going to attribute that to it not being completely broken in yet. My eleveation changed from around 5000 to well over 7000, only ran into snow on one trail. Hands down, this bike works so much better for me then the WR450. I did a little track riding on it last week and loved how much more stable i felt hitting the burms. On my 450 i would sometimes loose the rear end, not on the 310.
Love it and would highly recommend them for any single track riders and even desert riding.
Can't wait to hit Moab with it later in the year. here is a photo looking south at Mt Timpanogas.
