• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2015 Hangover Scrambles... Washougal MX park

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Another year and another hangover scrambles kicked it off. This year was blue sky again and mostly frozen ground. A bigger endurox course and finally a decent start!

I changed from my usual 15w40 Rotella/supertech to some Mobil 1 0w40 and upgraded to a nice iridium spark plug on the advice of Tinken. The 144 fired first kick and I was off to the races, in the deep end of the pool, getting bad starts has its advantages mostly the intensity is gone and I can just ride. The first lap today was pretty intense, I am not sure if that was part of the cause of my leg cramps or if it was the cold weather. I struggled with calf cramps after the first lap and my hamstrings were cramping badly the last 2 laps. Over all I felt like I rode slow, had a couple close calls and still managed to take 2nd in the 30+ expert class. I guess that just means it came easy, other than the cramping.

I still like my 125 more than this 144, the power is just too violent. My friend Jason finished 5th in 30+ expert and rode my 144 in the Bonus race at the end of the day. He couldn't get it to fire up on the line and started last, made his way to 2nd by the end of the first lap and ended up winning the Bonus race and $75 gift certificate to go with that. He loved the 144 and is looking for one. He said "I have never felt so comfortable and confident on a dirt bike as I did on yours" and he was almost 2 minutes a lap faster on my 144 vs the 2014 300 gasgas.

Here are some videos, pardon the whining, my legs were hurting a bit at times.

Later,

I was expecting this report and congratulations on your results ... Maybe later today I can watch your VIDS and have a few more meaningful comments ...

Too bad on the cramps ... I get them here from the heat if I wear black-colored outer-wear ...
