• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC 2017 TE300 questions

2nd Fastest Old, Slow Guy!
Hey Guys,

I have been trying to decide about moving from my 2015 TE250 up to a 2017 TE300.
A couple of the things that are going through my mind are the rims and the oversized tank.

I have the 4.1 gallon Tank from Acerbis for my 250 and while I do not use it all the time, I do like having the range option on a 2 stroke. Is that tank being made yet for the 2017?

Also, I just recently purchased a set of Tusk rims for my Ice tire set up and cannot tell if they will work on the 2017. I got them through Rocky Mountain ATV. I just spoke with them and they both show as having the same part numbers, but in the breakdown the hub number is different. They could not tell me if that was a sizing difference or just a color way change.
So do you know if there is just a difference with the wheel spacers, or are the wheels not compatible at all?

Thanks!

Here are the part #s The 2015 TE250 front hub #77709010044 and the axle #77309081000 rear hub #97310085044 and the rear axle#78010010144
The 2017 front hub #25009010244 and the front axle #77709081033 rear hub #26510010144 and the rear axle #77310085044

The part #s are different so I don't know if they will fit.....

IMS I believe is making a bigger tank already. YES, with a set of 22mm front wheel spacers, your 2015 wheels will fit (the bearing ID is the same, they just changed the axle OD). The rear axle is the same OD as last gen.

Sweet. Thanks guys.
I saw there was the 3.0 gallon ims tank, but stock is 2.9.
I would need the 4.0 gallon. I saw Slavens has the 4 stroke version available.
Don't know if it will cross over.
Like my current tank is not detailed for the husky, just the ktm but it works.

We used to be able to use the 4 stroke tanks, but with the fuel pump for the efi's now days, my GUESS would be no, but I dont know that for sure

Doh. That means I definitely need the 4 gallon tank.
Sold my 250 so the 300 is on its way!

Just found out. IMS has 3.6 gallon tanks coming out of production this week.
Jeff Slavens spoke to them today and ordered them for inventory. I took the first one.
Figured it is the largest option for now.
Better than the 2.6 stock
Will be curious this spring to see how fuel economy is on the new engine.

Ok, So what exhaust silencer to use with this bike? I had the Q stealth from FMF on my 2015. It was great. Quiet, and not very expensive.
I need a spark arrestor, and would rather be as quiet as can be.

I have the ole trusty fmf TC 2 in a bag waiting to be installed. Have ran them on so many bikes without issue, I see no reason to change. Passes DB testing at local and national enduros, so its good with me.

Great. That is what I ended up ordering. Just got here.
Just need to get it on!

Thanks!
