  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

310 kit questions.

Have a 2008 TE 250 that wants a 310 kit. Have iBeat. Will I be able to tune the limited 08 ECU with iBeat to make the 310 kit run good? Hope to just buy the 310 kit for the upgrade, cylinder/piston etc, no electronics. Really don't want to buy PC and auto tune. I know some CH members have done the 310 kit. Anyone install the 310 kit on an 08 with good results with just ibeat, no Power Commander, etc?

George at Uptite and Tasky's know how to do it. I rode a 08 TE 250 with the 310 kit installed by Tasky's and tuned with i-beat.That bike ran great. Just as good as my 08 TE with the Athena efi specific kit.

Call George at Uptite. He will tell you how it's done. He's done a few of them and has it figured out.

Nearly the first 08 TE 250 he got in back in Mar of 08 was one that the buyer wanted the 310 Athena kit on.

Sounds familiar to me as well . . .

That bike did run very well. Too bad the gas tank is/was so stinkin' small. Please Husky please!

This is good news. I hope soon to get one of the 300cc kits from Motosportz at that great price.

When doing the big bore, would it be beneficial to install SS valves all around?

if your valves are solid and holding i would not worry about it. How many miles / hours on the bike?

Bike has about 2.2K miles (dang pavent between the dirt) and about 91 hours. Bike runs like a top. G/F just want some more grunt in her Husky.
