  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

511 Bearings help

Husqvarna
A Class
Hi, a JD Tuner arrived from Motosportz and at the same time as fitting it I also wanted to change front and rear sprockets to 14/53. Started the sprockets 1st, and watched the U Tube Tutorial in Italian, how to change the front. It was during this that it was discovered that the bottom shock and frame/swinging arm bearing are shot and need replacing. Expensive?
The shock looks self explanatory, remove it as the top bolt looks accessable with the side panels removed.
How do you remove the frame bearing, any special tools required?
Is this a common problem, its water ingress, probably from jet washing, but the UK tends to lend its self towards muddy riding.
Secondly I fitted the tuner but couldn't ride it due to the bearing issue, great bit of kit, i see it comes programmed for the Akro that comes with the 449/511. Is there any better adjustments to be had?
Thanks in advance for any help coming my way.

Has any one replaced the Swinging arm/Frame bearings, and if so how does the bearings go in and out.
I've found all the parts on the Husky Catalogue, but need to get them out to look for a Koyo part number.

just order 2 swing arm bearing order FAG bearing from a local distributor a 30$ a pc. will see next week how to get them out probably built a puller with plate and threaded rod to pulled the out of the frame look like there is a lip on the inside of the frame ..... oem bearing is a snr (ntn bearing) NJ.204.e.g15

Ok, a bit lost with the bearing thing. Can some one give me the make and serial number of the bearings I require, and can the seals be bought at the same time or do I need to buy from a husky dealer as a Kit, which I suspect is the dearer option. Some one out there must have had to change the bearings and seals, some tips would be appreciated.

Come on some one out there must be able to help, rang a dealer today with part numbers and it comes to more than £100.00 ($155.00), If you know the makes and part number for these bearings then I hope to save money.

Bought the Swingarm/frame bearings from a local Bearings Merchant, a little cheaper, but wrong size seals, also bought the lower shock bearing, very cheep but doesn,t come with the centre piece, which I'm hoping the Husky part 8000 H6121 comes with, it should as its bloody expensive, and now have to replace rear wheel bearings, which I ended up ordering again from husky, also ordered the spacers, don't know how much yet.
Why does KTM have all this sown up with easy availability and able to buy in kits complete. Its definitely why they are so popular in the UK compared to Husqvarna.
