• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

610 dual mufflers?

1 wheel peel

Husqvarna
AA Class
Picked up a clean `08 SM610 a while back with a complete Ti LV on it. I like the sound but where I ride it would be beneficial for me if I could drop a few decibels when on the throttle. I've seen dual mufflers setups on various other Husqvarna's, was there ever a DM setup offered for the 610? Does having dual mufflers tone down some of the upper RPM bark? I'm not trying to make it quiet just quieter.

Negative, I do not. My experience with DBK inserts on other bikes has not been positive. I might have to give it look though. Thanks

The LV with the DB killer in an '08 TE610 isn't much louder than the old twin pipe kickstart models I had in the '90s.

Interesting. I guess the next question then is anyone have one their willing to part with?

If you have the ti end cap (four bolts hold it on), we've got them. $45 plus shipping.

If you have the carbon end cap (it slides in and is retained with a snap ring), we have them, $65 plus shipping.

I took the db killer out of my 610's LV muffler, it was unbearable on the road and lasted about ten minutes. Back in it went.

We're now out of the db killer for the carbon end cap mufflers (Thanks for your order 1 wheel peel!), we do have two db killers left for the ti end cap mufflers. Both of these are the "short exit" version which allows for the spark arrestor screen to go over the db killer.
