• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

610 headlight options

Hello!
I have the sm610s (2004) with that ugly mask and the not satisfying (at all) lights.
Does anyone knows where can I find the newer model mask to buy?
Will it fit or I will have to buy a front fender too?

Any other good looking solutions?
I have seen many huskies with the ktm like mask, which doesn't seem like a bad second option.

*If anyone is selling his old mask (2006+ model, black) I'm interested!

Under $60 will get you this.

Hi Durruti.

All 610 headlight are poor excuses.
I rode my '08 SM 610 on dark streets without public lights and the light was really too weak. So, I don't recommend a 2006+ light either.

looks great, give us some details
It's a 2" HID Projector housing...

You can find them on those Chinese websites that take 2-6 weeks to ship items, or eBay.

To mount it, I just used a piece of 2mm thick aluminum plate, cut a hole in it, and jigsawed off the corners and filed it all smooth.

Thnx for the replies!
The #2 post solutions seem out of my budget. :(
#4 post looks interesting, I don't know if I can fix that properly though.

Atm I'm closer to a ktm like mask.

Just buy some aluminum plate, a hacksaw, a file, and a hole saw...

The aluminum plate is bolted to the existing headlight bracket, and retains the adjustment point.

I filed the V notches for the screws to grab by hand...

Wiring it up is easy, the mask actually has a lot of room behind it to fit all the junk the HID comes with.

Eventually I'd like to get a lexan guard made that fits into the mask that will line up with the edge to make cleaning the bugs off easy.
