• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Question--is it Normal for the 610 te husky /09 /Flasher Unit to give up the ghost after a few months ? Or is it just my Bad luck. The same happened to my / 07/450 te unit a while ago ? Replaced the 450 one with a car mechanical unit. Asked the importer here in SA if the warrantee covers it--answer Noooooooooooo. Original unit just costs 20times the price of a car unit---Any advice on what i should do with the 610---need a small compact unit or need to wire longer wires in and move it to the air box--battery side and put a car one in.? Space is a problem i see -

I replaced mine with an aftermarket electronic flasher unit, which while smaller, was able to fit in the area of the fuse/relay blocks on the left side.

+1 on the electronic flasher. I also put on LED signals and wired up a hazard switch. The LED's ended up being 1.75 pounds lighter than the OEM lights.

+2 on running an aftermarket flasher.. when I finally get my hands on my 610 I'll be installing LED signals all around. To accommodate the LEDs I got this Flasher model LFS-1 (scroll to "motorcycle types") that's made for any combination of regular or LED bulbs without changing the flash rate. It looks to be well made, weatherproof, and was only 9 bucks.
