  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I am looking for a replacement piston wrist pin needle bearing for the 81-83 430WR/XC/CR motor and was wondering what bearing part number and manufacture others on here are using in place of the oem bearing # 161183801. Thank you for the help.

Not long ago I wanted a Wossner piston kit for a similar big bore husky. Searched everywhere in the US, all out of stock for the size I needed. Contacted Andy at HVA-factory. He not only had the wossner piston kit but I think he even had an original Mahle. Not only that, he had wrist pin needle bearings as well. I did not specifically ask what brand it was, he just asked if I wanted the bearing also and I got it to. From the UK to central USA, the package was on my porch within a week. He is a sponsor on here, and has a link back on the forum home page under the sponsor section.

Thanks for the referral. Good to hear when we do things right!

Yes, plenty of small end bearings in stock for all the primary kick bikes...

Andy.

Hi Andy, What is the width of the 430 wrist pin bearing you sell and the brand/manufacturer and part number?

The replacement from husky has been a little shorter than the origional for quite a long time perhaps 15 years or more. I don't remember what I did last time re used one or used the slightly shorter one all came with husky part numbers well the shorter ones came through the proper channels. I have seen yamaha on the side of a rod, if you work the search hard enough someone else actually stated what years and models fit. One would expect the pin in the piston to be the same. I doubt walking into a yamaha shop to cross reference a bearing is as friendly expierence as 30 years ago. Not sure if my commen is of any help.

Hi Dave, Thank you for the helpful info! I will start looking for the KX250 wrist pin bearing. I am currently using the Wiseco B1022 which is 23.6mm wide.
