• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I'm picking up another Husky at the ISDT Reunion Ride this weekend, an '82 250XC. Comes with a pretty cool sticker on the airbox cover that some folks here might recognize.

A couple more, I'll take some better pics when I get the bike.

I've got the same bike and love it, mostly used for trail riding, although still probably want to get heavier fork springs and emulators and heavier springs and revalved Ohlins for the back.

Some better pics.

This appears to be a really low hour bike. The pipe looks like it is brand new, as do the cases. The bike has a California "green" sticker registration dated Feb of 1986 so it was definitely a California bike originally. The shocks have been rebuilt and restored which is why they look so good. The bike started on the second kick and it does have a little top end rattle, not a big deal.

The top end is a little rattly, I'm sure it needs a top end, but its got good compression. Fresh rebuilt shocks, new air filter, new fuel line, new Chen Shin 5.30 rear tire (which I will leave on there for a few shake down rides then replace with an IRC). All it really needs to be ready to ride is a new front tire and the swing arm chain slider at the pivot is missing.

Its a California desert bike, bearings are all tight. The bike probably never saw a drop of water or mud in its life.
