• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

We have access to 31 acres across from my home and I've been working on a woods course to practice on. I shot a short video of one of the loops yesterday and thought someone here might enjoy seeing it. The GoPro doesn't show the degree of the inclines very well or the general condition of the trail (often lots of large rocks, ruts, slimy clay mud) but you can get an idea. Currently, I have about 3 times the amount of trail shown here and am working to make it about 5 times longer.

We found a beautiful 05 DR200SE for my buddies son and were just back from driving to get it so we had to take it for a spin.

Anyway...enjoy and remember I'm an old fat guy...just out having fun.

Be sure to watch it in HD

Did I see a sofa up there...nice....

One of the owner's sons cleared out some large trees to open the overlook t0 the valley a few years ago. They had an old bench up there but recently sold an old van and one of the seats found its way to the top of the hill. It's a pretty comfy place to relax after running around up there in 90 degree heat.

Here's a pic of the view from that seat. This was last fall after we had devastating flooding in our area. The view is beautiful right now.

That view is really cool...... From the video, it looks like you guys could make a lot of trails out of that 31 acres.... Thanks for sharing the videos....

You're welcome and yes, I think I can easily end up with many miles of trails over there. They had it logged a few years ago and really opened it up. I've since found other old logging roads and trails that I'm working on connecting together. There are many hundreds of adjoining acreage that is pretty much unusable for much of anything other than hunting or riding so if need be I can expand greatly.

I'm blessed that the owners are people who realize that everything comes from God. They have repeatedly told me to use the land like it was my own. So I do!
