  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Adjusting shifter on 2009 TE250?

IIRC, you can hold the shifter in the up position, which gives you enough room to get an 8 (or is it 10?)mm 1/4" drive socket in there.

The problem I found is that even moving the shifter up one notch meant that it would rub against the chain when upshifting.

It's pretty annoying as I find the shifter too short, and too low.

I totally agree. I find that when I shift I either have to flick my knee out and foot up, hoping I catch it with the rim of my boot, or scoot up till my nuts are hugging the gas cap so I can fit the toe under the shifter.

i found the gear lever on my 310 2010my way too tight for my size tens (UK) i had one of these shipped all the way from oz to the uk..
its an original lever with an extended tip a bit pricey
works great and have been using this all year.. stnads up to good abuse
no more hitting the gear lever by accident when going over bumps and makes changing up much easier..

its down the list
red tip extended 15mm..

I use a small 8mm ratcheted box wrench I got from sears for the shifter bolt. I have these in 8/10/11/12/13/14 mm and they are awesome. You can find them all over and Amazon has them for pretty cheap.
