• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

AMA D38 Roadrunners Off-Road MC Christmas Classic (Plaster City East)

TemecuCoastie

Husqvarna
Pro Class
I don't often do Desert races but when I do it's a D38 Scramble.

This years Christmas Classic was awesome. Though dusty, it was still pretty dang fast.

I think I GoPro'd it but will have to check. I may have had my camera in the off position.

I finished 4th, which was last in the Super Senior (50+) Class:

SUPER SENIOR NOVICE 1 431M FOSTER- JERROME SUZ 22.26.501 21.01.240 21.31.431
SUPER SENIOR NOVICE 2 P19 HARRIS- GEORGE YAM 22.19.051 23.00.611 21.44.470
SUPER SENIOR NOVICE 3 P5 FEINSTEIN- ROBERT YAM 23.55.542 22.10.420 22.17.651
SUPER SENIOR NOVICE 4 595M STUCKEY- SEAN HUS 23.31.812 23.52.551 24.15.792

But my 15yo Nephew, in his first race ever, finished 4th in the 00-200cc/Novice Class (not bad for a kid from Ramona, CA):

200 NOVICE 1 11A EARLE- DYLAN KTM 20.41.007 18.29.569 19.12.379
200 NOVICE 2 139A GOODSELL- CHAD KAW 24.33.319 23.16.792 --.--
200 NOVICE 3 88A BUSCAGLIA- CADE KAW 24.57.849 25.11.882 --.--
200 NOVICE 4 P3 STUCKEY- CAMERON HON 32.00.653 31.04.715 --.--
200 NOVICE 5 155A MARINI- AUSTIN KAW 21.48.968 21.48.968 --.-- --.--
200 NOVICE 6 P12 KEYNA- OSCAR KTM 56.41.555 56.41.555 --.-- --.--
200 NOVICE DNS P8 BRANCH- TANNER HON --.-- --.-- --.-- --.-- --.-- --.--

wait... who's that coming from the extreme left of the screen at 0:59??? someone cheating? ...and around 1:30 a SxS comes close to taking out a racer. wtf? around 7:00 someone gets excited at the finish line; with a near collision.

nice drone shots. looks like fun but I doubt my quads could handle it.

That guy coming up from behind in the opening bomb run is fine. He may have had trouble getting his bike started. On a bomb start, as long as you pass through the funnel at the end, you're good.

The real story here is TemecuCoastie has bumped up to Super Senior/Magnum class! WTF over?

maybe.

but if you watch closely, he managed to turn his hard-starting bike into 2nd position at the funnel/powerline- almost the equivalent of a holeshot. This from about 1/8 of a mile left of the starting area/pits. hmmmm.

I haven't raced desert since 1972- unless you count the virginia city gp (and I don't). so I'm saying I'm not sure what I'm talking about. Actually, at the start of the B2V in On Any Sunday, I see the same thing coming out of the pits- someone starting from the sidelines this time (right side of the screen; left side of the start line). I've asked a few times, but no one seemed to think it was any big deal. :excuseme:

Maybe it was somebody I know. I'll shut up now.

I'm just glad our local district still has a following. good on ya for supporting. I will probably do the 2018 D38 zone National H&H. But I just don't get into those local dez races. Through no fault of their own they are just too restricted to the same small stamp in the dez for me.

looking forward to Rd 3 of the AMA Nationals put on by the Roadrunners Hope they can find some tight tight canyons and trails. loop 2 in the past they took us up in the hill to the north it was fun I will be on a 125 so make it tight and hard

PS See you there Robert
