  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Any Supermoto Wheels? TE250/310 for Highway!

C Class
Are there any available wheels that I can just slap on?

I also searched about highway driving, couldnt find any specifics.

My use: trails, supermoto track, and around town cruising. I will use the bike mostly around town (California, so the avg is like 40-45mph) but in order for me to get to the next town i have a 5-10 mile freeway ride (65mph) till i get to the next sidestreet

Is it worth getting the 310 over the 250. the added weight doesnt seem appealing to me.

Yamaha wr250x has been on my mind, but i want a husky!! People say the wr can cruise at 70 no problem but it weighs 300#'s!

PS: Prob not waiting for the Husky 2011 models

thanks

Speaking from experience, I think it's "Bad Medicine" to expect a TE 250/310 to cruise 10 miles at 65mph unless you change the gearing so much that you probably won't be happy with it in the dirt. I did it some, and it's not only an unpleasant ride, but the bike is screaming it's guts out. Mine eventually trashed the crank bearing, so I did the rebuild with the 310 kit and have since decided to use the bike more for what it's intended...mostly dirt but a little street riding - and when I do ride street, I keep the revs low:thumbsup:

I just bought a set of rims of a cbr600 1987, which will fit my 09 te450, all that is required is for a mate of mine to make axles for them. Total cost will be under $400.

Brother,

you might be on to a gold mine here!!!

please keep us updated on your progress****************************************

Just waiting for my mate to pull his finger out! then i will post the photos. He has done the same with our friends KTMs and they are awesome!!! As long as the distance is 175 millimetres from disc to sproket on your original dirt wheels the rest is supposed to be easy. some people have to mount a braket to bring the calliper back to fit the front disc.
