  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Any TXC 449 owners out there. What gearing ard you running

Picked up my old TXC 449 i sold in 2013. Bike needs a chain and sprockets. What sprockets sizes are you running? Bike will be used for our faster races. Going to Laughlin NV for a BITD race Feb 21. 90 mph speeds every now and then. Is there a combo that will work?
Putting ZipTys oil recirculation thing on tomorrow so it can handle these speeds.

Are you guys with TXCs running stock maps? I have a JD tuner. Last time tuner was on I had a problem with bike missing at high rpms. Could only use about 3/4 of the throttle/power. Havnt ridden it with stock map. Any idea if it's the tuner or something else.

I had my first ride on my new to me 2011 TXC 449. pretty much stock with 15 hours.. ran great in stock form.. and so much better than what the Magazines said.. bike is fast and turns on a dime.. think handled better than my Beta 525 and 470 big bore.. stock gearing is pretty good. but I didn't do any super high speed runs.. I rode wooded trails with some open flat areas. stock was good for than and I wouldn't change. though fast BITD (besides laughlin hare scrambles) I could see going 2 tooth smaller on the rear for higher speed stuff. Dual sports I'd go with a 43 if it was Duals sport desert stuff..

15/48 was the original sprocket set ratio on the BMW, although that transmission was a little higher in final. When we raced the TXC's, we ran powercommanders on all of them. This will seriously boost the power throughout the rpm range and help pull the higher gear ratios.
