    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Hi all, a LONG time ago now my bike got the dreaded EWS code on the dash. I have not been able to figure that out and am looking to sell as a rolling parts bike. ~12k on the motor, non-op title, bike is located in Long Beach, CA. It would be a shame to let these parts/engine go to waste.

ECU/dash/ignition are not usable, all other parts are fine, not really looking to part out. It has been sitting in my garage for some time now.

Please let me know if you're interested and willing to pick up from Long Beach and we can work something out.
 
mysery1...I did the same thing...ran a wire from the ECU case to the negative battery terminal, and my 6-month long saga of the dreaded EWS came to an end!! Spread the word!

Good day guys, I ended up picking up Lawrence’s Strada. The issue is with the gauge cluster. I ended up throwing my extra Terra electronics in to get it to run. When you turn on the ignition where you get the bulb check and tach sweep the bulb check is not coming on so I figured out it was the cluster pretty quick. I’ll be sending the electronics out and reporting back once they are returned.

Also just fyi the abs doesn’t work with terra stuff as well as the speed.
 
hi. i am in need of a dashboard case/housing. the plastic part that holds the pcb inside. mine is falling apart. i also need a tail/rear fender assembly. any chance someone here could help me with these?

Curious if you sent it over to the Philippines shop on Facebook or somewhere else?

I’m in the market to get a second key for my bike and looking for a reputable shop that will handle that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I sent out the electronics to keynamics in the Philippines and they are saying both the ECM and the gauge cluster had issues. They were able to fix the cluster but the ECM apparently was beyond repair. Im currently looking for a ECM. I have not received anything back as I am looking for an ECM to send out and get reprogrammed to match what they have already.

A guy from Husky Terra facebook group said he is running his BMW X-Challange with the Husky engine. So bmw electronics, dash and ecu and the red husky engine.

A Rotax is still a Rotax so understandable that it would run.
The problem is the internals of the engines are different, ie. forged pistons & crank etc. This requires different fueling & ignition mapping, not to mention the difference in the redline of about 1,000RPM.
How would you reprogram the BMW ECU?

i didn't ask that but i assume it would be easier than the husky ecu. i mean the f650 platform had more support than the terra and bmw is still around so it shouldn't be impossible.
