  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone put a headlight on a TC??

Just need to know if its possible to install a headlight on an 06 TC 250. I have searched and have called a few companies and haven't had any luck finding anything out. Help!!

Possible, yes, but the output of the stator is limited, perhaps 40W AC available. Others will hopefully/likely be able confirm.

How long to you intend on riding and needing the light? If <3 hours, I would just buy/make a battery pack and drive a HID helmet light, don't mod the bike at all.

Heaps easier than new stator, regulator/recitifier, battery, light, switches...

TC 250 Lighting.

I have an 06 TC 510 with light output.

Baja Designs rewound the stator and since I have the E-start on mine, I have the battery, which makes it easier for HID lighting. Previous owner pre ran the 07 Baja 1000 and ran a single 8 inch HID. I ordered a Baja Desings Diablo HID last week. All very simple stuff, plug and play, once you get the stator wound, wiring harness, regulator/rectifier installed etc.

If you do call Baja Designs for help, ask for Diego, he will tell what you can and can't do.

Good luck, Mitch.

Depends on what the lights are for. If you want to ride at night or on the street, follow the other suggestions for higher output. If you just need enduro-legal lighting, there is a connection under the tank with adequate AC output.

I put lights on my '06 TC250 and used a slick wiring harness from my dealer, Scott Rocher. His mechanic makes them. It plugs into the existing AC connector, includes the needed voltage regulator, and has connectors that plug right into an OEM headlight and taillight. Of course, the headlight/taillight connectors easily adapt to non-OEM units. It also has a connector to wire in a brake-light switch if you need one.

I put my TC back in MX trim when I sold it, and still have the wiring harness. $25 shipped if you want it.
