• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Anyone seen this Husky before?

There is at least one more trials bike they built before this one, late 60's I think. In one of the Husqvarna reports is where I might have seen it.

Couldn't it be this one you read about?

Small (Free) translation from the article:
"The motor is based on the 1972 250cc motor equipped with a special cylinder and head. Stroke = 64,5mm, Bore = 78,75mm"

Late sixties, early seventies - the memory becomes blurred over the years, you could ask me I suffer from it ;)

I'm not sure they ever made more than this one on the picture.

I overlooked the obvious. A 4-stroke early 1970's trials bike. I believe they would have been as rare, as loc-ness :doh:

rumor has it Husky HVA played with the idea of a trials bike, but canned it, for reasons unknown, that bike pictured may be one of the bikes made.
what i was planning on..
69-71 frame. 250ccWR round case 4 speed.
change the steering head angle, small single seat, OSSA MAR flywheel, super low front sprocket, 72 tooth rear sprocket, small Mikuni carb..custom pipe, to keep low end up,
what i wanted to do is build a bike to ride the AHRMA classic class.
says...175CC sachs, or 250cc Spanish 4 speeds. Bultaco, Montesa, and OSSA..
sooo....i figured a right hand shift 4 speed Husky 250cc, detuned, for a trials bike...
AHRMA..well..were going with MX rules here,will have to be a split frame...or run that in the Modern Classic class...
so i shitcanned the project..no way, would i be able to compete on the expert line with that bike, on the MC class...more closed minded idea,s from AHRMA..go figure.
i didnt want to ruin a split frame Husky to build a trials bike, when thousands of 69-71 clapped out bikes are lying around...and nobody races them...
