• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone with 630 DirtBagz kit?

I ordered just the standoff racks for the 630 as i have the bags from my 610. Just mounted them and realize there is no heat shield for the left (LV Titanium) pipe. The 610 het shield they provided does not appear to be compatible ith the 630.

Has anyone here ordered the 630 DirtBagz ensemble, if so did they provide heat shields for the twin stock pipes? Or did the stock heat shields provide enough protection? I may have to cobble up a heat shield for the left side, or order the muffler sliders someone posted here...unless there is an aftermarket heat shield, lighter is better.

Nope, didn't get any heat shields with the Dirt-Bagz brackets. The Brackets keep the bags off of the mufflers all by themselves. At least they keep the bags off of the stock mufflers.

No heat shields. None needed. I have 2-3" between the bag and the closest point on the muffler. I have the twin Leo slip-ons.

Been riding with them on for almost two weeks. No issues...I got the full kit and the bags were identical to the ones I had for my 610.

My single LV pipe looks like there will be very little clearance at the front edge of the left Ranger bag. I pulled the standoff bar out so it's OK everywhere else but it's about 5/8" at the front edge and who knows when the bag is

stuffed it could come into contact.

How hot do the Leos get anyway?
Not very.... You can put your hand on it for a moment. You still need the bags off of it, but even a half inch is enough. They are far, far cooler than the stock ones containing the cat converter.
The left can gets hotter than the right, which leads me to think more exhaust goes out that way. To check, I put a db killer insert in the left can (so that it is more restricted). Both cans were then about the same temerature. I ride it like that now since it's a little quieter and both mufflers are working the same.

The rear of the carbon heat shield is 2" in front of where the front edge of my Ranger bag ends. Just remounted my bags and stuffed the left one...the rear has 2" clearance after tweaking the bar out but the front edge of the bag has 3/4" clearance, the wider foam of the Seat Concepts kit seems to help over the stock seat I used earlier. Might be OK as-is now.

You don't get one of these with the single...?
