  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Apologies London 2012.

For anyone who watched the 2012 olympic 'history of the UK' great shame that the likes of Smith, Nicoll, Noyce, Hudson, Bickers, Dobb, Whatley, Malin, Herring and Searle were left off, and Thorpe of course. Would have loved to see a full field of open class 70's Mx bikes tear up that fake ceremony !! Hottly pursued obviously by Aberg and Mikkola ....

Here's a pic of Billy on a rare machine? I can't find much of a record , think its a Carabela, I had one once. He's becoming a hero of mine. He defininately rode Suzuki but has no Wiki page !!!

Should really point out that when I say I owned a Carabela I actually owned a large box full of rusty parts and cobwebs that never got further than an autojumble some considerable years ago. The Olympic size beers I was drinking last night are to blame.

Everything is a dog and pony show today with some grinning talking-head picking up the poop afterwards and saying the poop smells good...

Really cool pics you left here ...

Ever notice how cool and gnarly all the tracks looks in these old photos? Usually lots of natural terrain jumps ....

Its a Greeves from I think 1960. I reckon it would be the villiers starmaker engine , they ran it with a flat megaphone !!!??? and I think it had twin carbs too. Can't imagine what that sounded like full chat. They went on to use it in the Stormer later with an exhaust and single carb,250,370,410.
