• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Aussies: re The Kenda Rally at Eildon

Slowpoke

Husqvarna
AA Class
Any of you folks done this?

I may end up in OZ for a bit this spring and this event was suggested to me.
Type of trails? Single track? Double? both? Elevation changes?

TIA

I have ridden Eildon on several occassions (next state). It ranges from flat to quite hilly. It is quite picturesque and can be challenging (if desired). It is a large area and can cater for a lot of skill levels.

I did this one many years ago with my misses on the back of my TT 350, it was called the Nolans rally back then it was good then it would be even better now
Just looking at the Kenda rally site their are some vids on the Sawmill rally that would be a good one also. My mates and I have spent many weekends riding around these tracks, The track I love doing is Mount Bulla to Bright just love it. anyway these guys have been doing these rides for years so it should be good.
I wish I was down there so I could show you a few more tracks

Do a search on dirtbikeworld.net for Kenda Rally, I am sure there are some vids on there from last years (the site is down at the moment, should be back up tomorrow)

Thanks guys. I found a few vids on youtube that give an idea of some of the trails. Looks interesting and looks like a well attended event.

A lot of the rides have a limit of about 3-400 riders witch is a nice amount. One ride I did one year was called the Blue light rally it had around 7-800 riders and I found that to be too many, at some point of the ride it was like a a car park with up to 30-40 riders trying to get up a tricky sectikn.

Keep us inform of what your plans are may be some here can help you out down in Victoria. And if your thinking of comming to Mount Isa defanetly look me up

If I get over there, I expect it to be for about a month & possibly look something like this; Land in Melbourne end of April, poke around there a few days to get over jet lag etc., do some riding locally with a fella who lives near Melbourne, do the Kenda rally, then spend 2-3 weeks or so checking out parts of AU: Vic. SA, southern part of NT, NSW & parts of the East coast. Then head home at end of May.

Nothing cast in stone yet & a few things locally have to fall into place before I can book my trip. Will keep you posted.
