  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Bali Husky installs JD ignition system Report!!

Husqvarna
A Class
We installed the JD ignition system for the 2010 TC250 on one of our bikes (the one with the Devil exhaust system) today and can report an overall improvement throughout the power range making the bike feel much more responsive! There are two pre programed maps but we could not feel much difference between them. We ride a tight Supercross track so maybe on a more open MX track it would be more obvious. Over all I would say this is a very good mod for the TC. The bike now really rips comparable to any of the Japanese machines.
So to summerize what we have done to the bike to get it like this:
1) Installed a Boyesen Quickshot leak jet adjuster set at 1.25 turns out.
2) Installed a Devil long muffler exhaust system and removed spart arrestor.
3) Installed a JD racing ignition
The bike now RIPS****************************************

Awesome news!!! I hate when you post information like this......you're making me spend more and more money!:). Good info and thanks for posting. Is the JD ignition available for sale or are you using some prototype?

Blake

Ha ha!! The JD is available for sale. They only have the 2009 one on their website but just email them for the 2010 model and they ship it quickly from Italy!! Do you have your 250 yet??

Just wondering, did the JD unit clean up the ratty sounding idle? Mine sounds like it has a weak spark at idle and isn't very clean sounding.

Wonder if that's why Zip-Ty was using an iKat?
